Former Nike designer predicts a big year for recovery footwear

President of the New Hampshire-based company, TJ Gray, has said: “Recovery footwear will become a power player in the footwear game in the spring of 2015. As we look to minimise the risk of injury in athletes, recovery has become increasingly important. We see recovery footwear continuing to expand in the athletic market.”
A former designer for Nike and former college decathlete, Mr Gray said in a trends report for spring 2015 that he regards OOFOS as a leader in the recovery footwear category. He said the Nevada-based brand, which offers proprietary cushioning and a patented footbed design in its products, has been “slowly introducing sport-specific platforms” to grow this market.
He added: “Coming off a breakthrough year, the brand will certainly gain momentum [from] performance-driven trends in the running market.”
