Huntsman offers new blue dyes with added wet fastness
Huntsman Textile Effects has launched ERIOFAST Navy M for polyamide and polyamide/elastane blends, which it says make it possible to achieve navy and royal blue shades with the highest standard of wet fastness in an “economical” way.
The Singapore-based company has designed the dyes with the sports and swimwear industries in mind, and says they can be used with a short and simple dyeing process for brilliant navy, dull navy and intense royal blue.
Textiles treated with the new reactive dye exhibit excellent colour continuity under different light sources, durability and allow colour blocking effects, Huntsman claims. As no additional fastness improvement with hydrophobic fixing agents is required, fabrics achieve a naturally soft, moisture-absorbing handle.
“ERIOFAST Navy M has been specifically developed to focus on the growing high-value global market for PA and PA/EL blends,” said Stephen Gray, global vice-president of strategic marketing and planning at Huntsman Textile Effects.
ERIOFAST is aligned with OEKO-TEX, bluesign, Responsible Care and the European Union textile standards. It also complies with the listed chemicals and substances requirements from the major brands’ Restricted Substances Lists.
