Dominican Republic keen on more textile production

The Caribbean country’s president, Danilo Medina, has said there will be expansion in Free Trade Zones across the republic and that the government will set up a new financial institution, aimed specifically at funding companies that will boost exports.
In a recent speech, Mr Medina quoted a report from US analysts that said the Dominican Republic was among the countries likely to succeed China as “the factory of the world”.
