UTECH conference to debate slow uptake of renewables

12/03/2014
The 2014 UTECH North America conference and exhibition, taking place June 4-5 at Charlotte Convention Center, North Carolina, will devote a full session on the opening day to sustainability, examining specifically why acceptance of renewably resourced raw materials has, until now, been relatively slow.

Professor Ramani Narayan of the Biobased Materials Research Group at Michigan State University will deliver a keynote address on the use of bio-resources and end-of-life options as a means of driving towards sustainable polyurethanes. Professor Narayan will then chair a roundtable discussion featuring proponents of the three alternative raw material technologies: natural oil polyols (NOPs), bio-succinium materials and CO2-based products.

Across the two days, there will be a total of 46 detailed technical papers in a total of eight sessions.
