New owner acquires Garmont

Italian outdoor footwear brand Garmont has a new owner. Pierangelo Bressan, who owns outdoor apparel design specialist Prisma 2, stepped in to buy the brand on April 9.

Reports in Italy say Mr Bressan has no intention of moving Garmont’s headquarters from Volpago del Montello in the northern Italian province of Treviso. He has, however, set up a new company called Garmont International under which he will run the brand.

Garmont was founded in 1964 and exports its specialist mountain and outdoor footwear to around 40 countries all over the world.
