Bangkok-based PET manufacturer Indorama Ventures has announced that it has bought a controlling stake in SASA, a Turkish producer of polyester staple fibres and filament yarns. SASA supplies 150 different types of products to customers in more than 50 countries.

At the time of the announcement, Indorama said it believes Turkey’s geographical position spanning Europe, North Africa, Central Asia and Middle East offers potential for fast growth. It has its own raw material production plant with a capacity of 60,000 tonnes per year.
