Haglöfs signs up to help find PFC alternatives

13/05/2014
Swedish outdoor footwear and clothing brand Haglöfs has announced that it is attempting to play an active role in helping find alternatives to perfluorinated compounds in textile finishing.

It says it is the only consumer brand to be participating in a major research project called SUPFES, in which industrial and academic partners are working together to find new solutions.

At the same time, it is working in partnership with performance materials developer OrganoClick and the University of Borås in Sweden to find fluorocarbon-free water repellency treatments.
