Duty-free machinery imports for textile firms in Pakistan

Two textile associations in Pakistan, the Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) and the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), have applauded the federal government’s budget for fiscal year 2014-15, which will run from July this year until June next year.

They said the budget is pro-investment and pro-textile industry.

Textile-specific measures the budget contains include a long-term financing package to help textile manufacturers invest in new technology and a new duty-free arrangement for imports of textile machinery for the next two years.
