American Eagle to open three stores in the UK

Clothing brand American Eagle is to open its first three stores in the UK. All three sites will be in major shopping centres around London: Bluewater, Westfield London and Westfield Stratford near the main site of the 2012 Olympics.

Each of the three will have a shop-in-shop store for American Eagle’s Aerie swimwear and lingerie brand.

“We are excited to officially announce the upcoming launch of American Eagle Outfitters in the UK,” said executive vice-president, Simon Nankervis on breaking the news. “We see a tremendous global appetite for both the American Eagle Outfitters and Aerie brands, and believe that our presence in three of the most popular shopping destinations in England will provide great exposure for us in this significant new market. We are focused on profitably scaling our international growth and believe that American Eagle Outfitters will have great traction in the UK.”
