High-end Italian fashion company, Zegna, has taken greater control of its merino wool sourcing by beginning a joint venture with Charlie Coventry, owner of the Achill property in New South Wales.

The Australian wool-grower owns just short of 12,500 animals and Zegna, consumer of 1.5 million kilos of wool annually, has taken a 60% stake in the business, according to reports in Australia.

Through verticalisation, Zegna hopes to establish easier access to merino.
