18/07/2014
VF Corporation, the group that owns outdoor brands The North Face and Timberland, has reported an 8% year-on-year increase in its second-quarter revenues, reaching $2.4 billion.

In its Outdoor and Action Sports division which also includes the Vans footwear brand, VF reported 16% growth overall, reaching almost $1.3 billion for the quarter. Revenues at the North Face Reports went up by 11% compared to the same quarter last year, while those at Vans were up by 21% and Timberland’s by 19%.

Chief executive, Eric Wiseman, said on announcing the results that “all the momentum” for VF was in its Outdoor and Action Sports brands. He also pointed out that the second quarter of the year is, traditionally, the weakest for sports and outdoor activity.
