R’adys targets increased customisation

21/07/2014

Swiss outdoor brand R’adys is offering its customers greater customisation with the introduction of 3D body scanners into German stores and a greater range of options.

The €10,000 machines scan one million body points that are relevant for particular garment measurements.

Afterwards, the customer can log in to access the measurement and create the product, which is manufactured in Switzerland to reduce lead times to between four and six weeks.

Options include tailoring the colours and fabrics, and customising the product with a name.

The company cites its advances in textile bonding as helping to drive the offering, as the process allows “individualisation in an inexpensive and sustainable way”.
