WRAP says textiles is one of the areas in which it can make the biggest impact

UK government-backed Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) has published its annual report and accounts for the year to end March 2014.

In her opening statement, chief executive, Dr Liz Goodwin, said the organisation, which seeks to boost waste reduction in consumer products industries, including clothing and textiles, had had a year of strong achievement.

She said: “WRAP’s vision is a world where resources are used sustainably. We know from partner feedback that there is a clear role and appetite for WRAP, as enablers of change, to help make this happen.”

She went on to say textiles was one of the areas in which the organisation’s research shows it can make the greatest difference in terms of the impact on the world’s resources.

One of the highlights the annual report points to is the launch of a new Sustainable Clothing Action Programme (SCAP).
