IFAI event to put extreme sports on display

The Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) has announced that its international trade events, Specialty Fabrics Expo and Advanced Textiles Expo, will include a an extreme sports display for the first time. The events will take place in Minneapolis from October 14-16.

Displays will highlight specialty and technical fabrics and how they contribute to the extreme sports industry. Events manager, Barbara Connett, said on making the announcement that the purpose is to show off some of the products that fabric manufacturers create.
 
Featured items will include advanced textiles that have been worn by Olympic skiers and snowboarders, as well as diving and mountain climbing gear, motorcycle fabrics, inflatable kayaks and paddle boards.
 
“Perhaps one of the coolest things on display will be the Squirrel wingsuit,” Ms Connett said, “which lets its user jump and glide like a flying squirrel. Items like the wingsuit are exciting and sure to inspire attendees to look beyond their day-to-day work and imagine the possibilities.”
