European technical textiles: a €30 billion sector

Italian technical textiles association TexClubTec has said technical textiles now represent around 30% of the whole of the European Union’s textile industry by value.

In the build-up to a conference called NanoItalTex 2014, which TexClub Tec is organising in Biella on November 12, it put the value of technical textile production in the European Union at €30 billion per year.

It said the sector involves 15,000 companies now and a combined workforce of 300,000.
