India to host 2016 UITIC Congress

The International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians (UITIC) has announced that the Indian city of Chennai will play host to its nineteenth congress in February 2016.

India’s Council for Leather Exports (CLE) will act as organiser of the 2016 UITIC Congress, which will take place between February 3 and 5 the year after next. Each year at that time CLE organises the Indian International Leather Fair in Chennai; the fair’s dates for 2016 are January 31-February 3.

Brands, footwear manufacturers and experts will take part in discussions at the congress on the themes of the footwear factories of the future and innovations in shoe production. Visits to footwear factories in and around Chennai will also be part of the programme.
