Organisers of the UTECH Europe 2015 polyurethanes event have announced full details of the three-day conference. It will take place from April 14-16, 2015, at the MECC exhibition and conference centre in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

Featuring more than 90 detailed technical papers delivered in a total of 11 sessions, the conference will cover the latest developments in the global polyurethanes supply chain.

Frank Grunert, regional head of polyurethanes at Bayer MaterialScience, will deliver the welcome address ahead of keynote presentations from Tony Hankins, president of Huntsman Polyurethanes, and Soichi Inoue, chief executive of Inoac.

Two highlights from the conference’s plenary session looking at key strategic and market developments are Hassan Baalbaki, vice-president of the Baalbaki Group, who will present his outlook for the PU industry in the Middle East, and Robert Outram, associate director at IAL Consultants, who will provide a strategic business review.

Sustainability and the use of renewable resources will remain a key focus, the organisers have said, with 11 papers devoted to the subject on the conference’s first day. Further sessions are devoted to  applications of polyurethanes in flexible foams, energy-efficient rigid foams and elastomers.

Representatives of many major industry players will take part, including senior researchers and executives from Huntsman, Dow, Bayer MaterialScience, Wanhua BorsodChem, BASF, Du Pont, Shell Chemicals, Momentive and Evonik Industries.
