Haglöfs picks up sustainability award in Sweden

Ambitious new sustainability goals are one of the reasons why outdoor brand Haglöfs has won an award as sustainable brand of the year in its home country, Sweden.

Haglöfs formulated new sustainability goals two years ago and they will kick in fully in 2015. These include making 50% of all its clothing products and 40% of footwear from recycled material, and making sure 80% of all clothing products and 50% of hardware products have bluesign accreditation.

The company picked up the award during the Swesport outdoor and sports trade show in Stockholm on January 11.

“We are very proud to receive this award, it is a solid recognition of the hard and consistent work that we have put into sustainability in recent years,” said Lennart Ekberg, Haglöfs’ director of sustainability, in response to the announcement.
