Textiles and medical engineering will meet at Techtextil

New developments in materials and prototype ideas within the field of medical engineering will be presented at the 2015 Techtextil fair, taking place in Frankfurt from May 4-7.

“Manufacturers of special textile fibers and textile-based primary products are actively involved in the regeneration of organs, tissues and bones,” the organisers said in the build-up to the event. “Health protection as an economic mega-trend will open the floodgates for high-tech material textiles and their use in medicine and health.”

Examples include research that is currently being undertaken into textile bone components and new therapeutic gloves for stroke patients.

Overall, about 400 exhibitors are again expected at Techtextil.
