Why Swiss sports brand wants to work with partners close to home

Lu Jacomet, who manages zai’s apparel line, says to be able to visit her partner company after only a two-hour drive through the Swiss mountains is a great benefit.
“My idea was always to stay close to home,” she said in a recent company blog. “It cuts down on transport and travel costs, and lets me see for myself exactly how the company works, and what their production standards are like. I like being able to know the people I do business with. When you are doing business in the same time zone, with no language barrier or cultural divide, it makes the working relationship a lot easier. Ultimately I think that makes for a better end product.”
