Adidas suppliers to face faster production lead times and more customisation

At the event, which took place at its headquarters in Herzogenaurach on March 26, adidas said that between now and 2020 it would “evolve” its production capabilities to “dramatically expand” product customisation options for its consumers.
As a result, production lead times will reduce “significantly” the company said and “in-season creation” affecting the design and manufacture of products will increase.
Chief executive, Herbert Hainer, said at the event: “Speed will be a key competitive advantage for us. We are living in a fast-changing world. Only what is new is relevant to the consumer.”
