EU prepares to launch new project for recycling textile waste

01/06/2015
The European Commission is preparing for the formal launch of a new project called Resyntex, aimed at recycling textile waste to provide new raw material for the textile industry.

With a total budget of almost €11.5 million, Resyntex will last 42 months and will be part of the Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme, a far-reaching set of projects aimed at encouraging innovation and research across the European Union. One of Horizon 2020’s three pillars is to find potential solutions to social and economic problems, including the environment and climate change, specifically to encourage adaptation measures and better ways of using and preserving raw materials.
