Rogers aims to make impact protection easier for designers

04/06/2015
Impact protection technology provider Rogers has launched a new series of products in its XRD range. Called XRD 810, the new series will help designers combine flexible impact protection materials with style and function, the company said at the time of the launch.

Five distinct tessellating patterns make up the collection, each engineered with specific design uses and benefits in mind, Rogers has explained, harnessing the attributes of its XRD foams.

For example, XRD 810 Delta is desgined to minimise weight and thickness for use in applications such as thigh, rib and hip baselayer applications, while the XRD 810 Teardrop’s shape makes it particularly suitable to shin protection applications.

Design solutions manager, Dave Sherman, said at the time of the launch: “We developed the XRD 810 Series to inspire creativity in the protection market. We can help brands and their designers achieve an impact protection solution that embodies style, form and function. Initial feedback has been positive and we are seeing huge leaps in innovation from product developers and designers because they can now approach protective designs [beyond] just incorporating a protective foam.”
