BASF Force Majeure declaration affects polyamide 66 compounds

18/06/2015
Chemicals company BASF has said unspecified production problems at its hexamethylenediamine (HMD) plant in Seal Sands in the north of England have led to its declaring Force Majeure for HMD and polyamide 66 polymer on June 16.

As a result, the company will not take any contractual responsibility for supplies from Europe of its Ultramid A and Capron PA66 polyamide 66 compounds from June 17. It said on making the announcement that it was not in a position to predict how long the Force Majeure situation will last and that it would update customers on the situation as soon as possible.
