Reports from Turkmenistan suggest the central Asian country plans to streamline its textile industry to attract external investment.

In 2014, Turkmenistan’s textile industry, mostly based on locally grown cotton, had an estimated value of $400 million.

More than 70 companies are involved in the industry in Turkmenistan, including 17 garment factories.
