After several difficult years, Chinese sports brand Li Ning has reported improved results for the first half of 2015.

The company said that it grew revenues by 16% year on year in the first six months of 2015, reaching the equivalent (at current exchange rates) of almost $570 million. And it said “improved operational efficiency” had helped it achieve a positive figure for earnings before tax of around $40 million.

Li Ning said on announcing the results that product, channel and retail capability were still the three “pillars” of its strategy. It also highlighted the five activities that represent its “core sports”: running, basketball, badminton, training and sports lifestyle.
