Südwolle sets up new Turkish subsidiary

Südwolle said on making the announcement that the move reflects “the importance and potential” of the textile industry in Turkey as well as the Germany-based group’s desire to be “more responsive to customer requirements”.
In the last two years, Südwolle Group has also opened subsidiaries or offices in the US, the UK and Hong Kong. The director for Südwolle’s weaving yarns division and for the new Turkish subsidiary, Stephane Thouvay, said at the time of the announcement: “We are setting up our sales, planning and production teams to be more ‘fit for purpose’, and strengthening our presence in the Turkish market is an important part of that strategy.”
Melik Erdinc, a 15-year veteran of the Turkish wool industry, has been hired as general manager of Südwolle Group Turkey. He will be based in Istanbul and will be responsible for managing sales activities for the group’s full range of wool-based yarns for weaving, flat knitting, circular knitting, hosiery and technical textiles.
