A prominent business figure from Egypt, Nassef Sawiris, has bought a 6% stake in sporting goods brand adidas.

Mr Sawiris, who made his fortune in the construction industry, has invested in a number of prominent companies since, often speaking publicly about his ambition for them and about his views on the performance of senior management.
