Roundtable event will discuss potential uses of graphene

Senior representatives of high-end outdoor brand Colmar and of cycling equipment manufacturer Vittoria will take part in a roundtable discussion on the potential benefits they can offer consumers from using graphene in their products.

Directa Plus, a producer of graphene for use in consumer and industrial products, is organising the roundtable, aimed at media, in London on January 20. The event will take place at the Design Museum, near London Bridge.

The panellists will be Professor David Gann, vice-president of development and innovation at Imperial College London; Giulio Cesareo, chief executive of Directa Plus; Rudie Campagne, chief executive of Vittoria; and Giacomo Zerella, sports marketing manager at Colmar.

Together, they will examine what obstacles they believe have stood in the way of the commercialisation of graphene and what opportunities lie ahead for using graphene in consumer products in the next two years or so.

Often produced as a powder and as a dispersion in a polymer matrix, graphene is believed to have potential applications in coatings and advanced composites.
