Supplier of durable water repellency (DWR) technology to the performance textiles industry Chemours and DuPont, the company from it was spun off last year, will face a series of legal battles starting from April 2017 over allegations of links between exposure to leaked perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) from a DuPont factory and cancer sufferers in the surrounding area.

Reuters reported at the end of January that a judge in Ohio has decided to select an initial 40 cases from a list of more than 250 for hearings next year.

The news agency explained that Chemours agreed to take on some of DuPont's legal liabilities when it was spun off from the company.
