Royal visit for UK textiles students
The Princess Azizah Iskandar of Malaysia has paid a visit to textiles students at the UK’s Buckinghamshire New University.

Her Royal Highness, an expert on textiles, viewed workshops and design studios and enjoyed presentations from third-year students.

She said: “I really enjoyed seeing innovative and creative designs, combining traditional designs and hi-tech techniques.”

Princess Iskander is patron of the Malaysian Commercial Handicraft For Single Mothers organisation.

BA (Hon) Textile and Surface Design course leader Rosie Cate said: "We were very honoured to have this visit and the third-year students who presented their ideas to the Princess gained invaluable experience and feedback.”

Ms Cate will be visiting Malaysia this summer to view textiles projects in the country visiting manufacturers and educational projects.
