Damart’s fibre and fabric research results in new products

Body Gain is a new running and fitness clothing collection containing both a ceramic-particle far infrared ray (FIR) reflecting fibre and Lycra for compression. The fabric for Body Gain comes from Belgian knitter Liebaert.
Damart’s head of research and development, Michel Caillibotte, has said the benefits to wearers (reduced fatigue, reduction in delayed-onset muscle soreness and faster blood flow) are due to a combination in the fabric mix of compression and FIR functionality.
The French company has also launched Thermolactyl Sensitive, a collection thermal baselayer clothing that helps the skin maintain a high level of moisturisation. Damart claims that wearing Thermolactyl Sensitive can moisturise the skin by 21%, which is roughly half the level the wearer would have just after applying a moisturising lotion.
Thermolactyl Sensitive combines four different fibres: FIR-reflecting fibre, acrylic, polyacrylate and Lycra. It is this combination of fibres that enables the skin to retain moisture (reducing discomfort for the wearer): no chemicals or microcapsules are used.
