EPSI hosts cross-border conference

The fifth European Platform for Sport Innovation Conference took place in the Netherlands and Belgium on June 6 and 7. Hosted by the European Platform for Sports Innovation (EPSI), the Dutch Sports & Technology Cluster and Flanders Bike Valley, the event had as its theme ‘Crossing borders: innovation for economic and social impact’.

The conference was organised with the support of the Dutch Government, as part of the Dutch EU presidency 2016, with the first day at the Dutch Sports & Technology Cluster in Eindhoven and the second across the border at the Flanders Bike Valley in Paal-Beringen, Belgium.

Discussions centred on topics such as the growing importance of smart cities, the role of wearables, sensors and data in supporting an active and healthy lifestyle and the sports sector’s need to keep stimulating innovation.
