Decathlon to open second logistics centre in Germany

22/07/2016
Sports and outdoor manufacturing and retail group Decathlon has announced that it will construct a new distribution centre in the German city of Dortmund. The French company said the project will allow it to create 700 new jobs.

The new distribution centre will handle products destined for Decathlon stores in northern Germany, as well as fulfilling orders received from online shoppers. An existing distribution centre in Baden-Württemberg will serve shops in the southern part of the country.

Decathlon has more than 30 stores in Germany and has said it will open two more before the end of 2016.
