Tanatex announces new scouring and bleaching agent

Textile chemicals manufacturer Tanatex has launched a new product called Tergeo, describing it as a “third-generation, clay-based scouring and bleaching agent for bleaching cellulosic fibres and blends”.

Tanatex also said that the product offers pre-treatment performance for hydrogen peroxide bleaching, but made it clear that Tergeo is a “natural, eco-friendly” product offering “gentle treatment” textiles.

“Clay is a natural product that replaces a significant amount of chemicals,” the Dutch company said. “Excavating and processing it costs just a fraction of the energy that’s needed for producing oil-based products. This ensures a very low carbon footprint.”
