Eider launches new ‘beard-friendly’ ski jacket

French winter sports clothing brand Eider will include a new men’s ski jacket called the Shaper in its collection for winter 2016-2017, highlighting that it is particularly suited to wearers with beards.

The jacket uses a new zipper from YKK, the Fix A Shape, which is exclusive to Eider. Three years in the making, the zipper from YKK creates what Eider has called “a comfortable cocoon around the chin and face”, but without being restrictive.

Thanks to unique teeth and a concave curve, combined with specially designed elements locked into the curve, the zip follows the shape of the chin without compromising comfort and mobility.

The September-October 2016 issue of WSA includes a feature on zippers and other trims, mentioning the Fix A Shape from YKK.
