Turkish garment-maker to open new factory in Serbia

Turkish apparel manufacturer Aster has revealed plans to open a new factory in Serbia in September.

The new plant will be in Niš in the south-east of the country, a city with a tradition of textile manufacturing.

An outsource manufacturing partner, Aster has said the facility will make knitted and woven garments for women, men and children on behalf of a range of prominent clothing brands. It will initially employ 250 people, growing to a workforce of 2,000 in three years.
