BASF declares force majeure after Ludwigshafen

31/10/2016
As a consequence of a fatal accident at its production site in Ludwigshafen on October 17, BASF has declared force majeure on deliveries of dispersions, dispersion powders and hotmelts on acrylic monomer bases from the site in Ludwigshafen and also from its site in Tarragona, Spain, until further notice.

The fire has interrupted raw material supply and product inventories are “nearly exhausted”, the company said on making the announcement.

BASF is currently not able to specify how long this situation will last.
