Kingwhale and Hornwood confirm new North Carolina joint venture

Vertically integrated Taiwanese producer of performance fabric Kingwhale has confirmed a new joint venture with US-based partner Hornwood (best known as a supplier of fabric to Nike for NBA basketball uniforms), under the name King Charles.

King Charles has acquired a knitting factory in Anson County, North Carolina, and will employ 100 workers there and will fit the facility with what the joint venture company’s chairman, Chuck Horne, described as “the latest in technology”.

Kingwhale founder and president, Peter Huang, has told sportstextiles.com that the acquisition of the knitting factory by the Hornwood-Kingwhale joint venture is “a small but important step”.
