Pertex picks up Derryck Draper Award for CS10

Performance fabric producer Pertex has won the 2016 Outdoor Writers’ Guild Derryck Draper Award for its CS10 technology.

The UK’s Outdoor Writers’ and Photographers’ Guild set the accolade up in memory of former WSA editor, the late Derryck Draper.

“We are delighted to receive the award,” said Pertex brand manager, Steve Laycock, on hearing the news, “in particular since we were awarded the very first Derryck Draper Award for our Equilibrium product back in 1999.”

Pertex fabrics with CS10 technology use yarns with diamond-shaped filaments, which lock together to provide a stable construction. These tightly interlocking filaments give the fabrics high levels of abrasion resistance and water-beading properties. The fabrics are also soft to touch.
