Gunter Pauli pays tribute to The North Face founder

23/11/2016
Circular economy and environmental production campaigner Dr Gunter Pauli paid tribute to one of the founders of outdoor brand The North Face, Douglas Tompkins, ahead of addressing a conference in Oslo on November 23.

Dr Pauli went to Norway to address an event called Zero Konferansen and to launch the Norwegian language edition of his book The Blue Economy (he uses this title “because green is no longer enough”). Norwegian is the fortieth language into which the book has been translated.

Before speaking, Dr Pauli paid tribute to Douglas Tompkins, saying he had been “an inspiration”.

Douglas Tompkins died almost a year ago when kayaking in Chile.
