Brazil takes a delegation to Colombiatex for the first time

Brazil’s Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) has worked in partnership with the country’s Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods (Assintecal) to send a delegation to Colombiatex for the first time.

Taking place in the city of Medellín from January 24-26, this will be the twenty-ninth edition of the event, which lays claim to being one of the most important in Latin America for machinery and chemical suppliers to industries such as textiles, with 510 exhibitors taking part overall and the organisers expecting 14,800 buyers from 60 different countries.

Twenty-six Brazilian companies will take part, with the support of Assintecal and Apex-Brasil under a specific programme called Texbrasil. The chief executive of Texbrasil, Lilian Kaddissi, said in the build-up to the event: “Colombia is an increasingly attractive market for Brazilian companies and Colombiatex is the best possible platform for building new commercial ties. The 26 Brazilian companies taking part represent the best our industry has to offer and the group can take credit for some important advances in garment manufacturing.”
