Apparel summit to take place in Bangladesh
An event will take place in Bangladesh’s capital, Dhaka, on February 25 aimed at making the apparel supply chain there more sustainable.

Bangladesh’s prime minister, Sheikh Hasina (pictured), will inaugurate the event, the Dhaka Apparel Summit 2017, and speakers will include the European Union and US ambassadors to the Asian country, Pierre Mayaudon and Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat.

Fashion retail group H&M will also be represented at the Dhaka Apparel Summit 2017; its global head of production, Helena Helmersson, will speak.

There will be three panel sessions, covering development in the wider economy in Bangladesh, responsible sourcing and the road ahead for the apparel industry there.
