BASF updates polyurethane portfolio for SIMAC

Chemicals manufacturer BASF will present an “updated polyurethane portfolio” at the SIMAC exhibition in Milan (February 21-23), with the main focus on its Elastopan and Elastollan innovations for the shoe industry.

In the build-up to SIMAC, the company highlighted its Elastopan Light Sports PU system as a good example of this innovation. It said its main features include lightness, high levels of cushioning, high rebound and hydrolysis resistance. It is in use in products such as Puma’s Ignite running shoe.
