South Korean spinning mill Samil Spinning has acquired yarn spinner Buhler Quality Yarns in an all-cash deal.

Samil bought the US company for an undisclosed fee from Switzerland-based Hermann Bühler AG.

A statement from Buhler said that the deal would give Samil a manufacturing presence in the Western Hemisphere and allow it to grow its global footprint and client portfolio. It revealed that it is part of Samil’s plan for “targeted investments in the US”.

Buhler spins luxury yarns using premium fibres such as MicroModal and MicroTencel from Lenzing and Supima cotton. It produces yarn for the fashion, functional apparel, homes textiles and industrial fabrics markets in the US, Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico and Canada.
