Textile group Iskur, an outsource manufacturing partner for adidas, Nike and a number of other big-name brands, is to take up an offer of funding from the government in Ankara and set up three new factories in and around the city of Diyarbakir, in the southeastern part of the country.

Iskur has been running a cotton thread factory in the mainly Kurdish region since 2014, employing 330 people.

Reuters has reported that the new factories will take its workforce in the region to more than 2,000 people.
