Reverdia’s footwear products have up to 60% bio-based content
Reverdia, a joint venture between life sciences and materials sciences company DSM and starch producer Roquette Frères, will display a range of its biomaterials at the PSE Europe 2017 exhibition in Munich (June 27-29).

The Dutch company’s succinic acid-based polyurethanes have a significant share of bio-based content, reduced carbon footprint and will enable more sustainable products, Reverdia said in the build-up to the event. It has given the product name Biosuccinium to its succinic acid products.

Samples the company will have on display in Munich include a range of products specifically for the footwear industry such as soles for casual shoes (microcellular PU) and a sole plate (TPU) for football boots and other field sports. The bio-based content is as high as 60% in the case of the TPU.
