Amsterdam-based pressure group Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) organised a meeting on transparency at the Global Forum on Responsible Business Conduct event, hosted in Paris by the the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development on June 29 and 30.

CCC said it wanted to make delegates aware of the Transparency Pledge, a standard for supply chain transparency.

“Major garment companies have committed to work towards supply chain transparency, presenting companies and the sector as a whole with a critical step forward in implementing responisible business policies,” CCC said in the build-up to the meeting.

It said it hoped the meeting would help convince the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), its member states and other stakeholders that supply chain transparency should be promoted as “a key part of responsible business conduct”.
