Amer Sports sees profits fall but says trade conditions are improving
Finnish group Amer Sports has reported a 2% increase in sales revenue in the first half of 2017, reaching a figure of just over €1.1 billion. Earnings before tax were down, however, reducing by 60% to €13.4 million.

Commenting on the results, chief executive, Heikki Takala, said: “In the first half of this year we continued to pave the way for acceleration in fitness and sports instruments. We see trading conditions gradually improving. This improvement, coupled with our robust pipeline of brand initiatives and strengthened omni-channel capabilities, will support our growth in the second half of the year and beyond.”

Amer Sports brands include Arc’teryx, Wilson, Atomic and Salomon.
