New Shima Seiki tool offers inverse-plating capability

Japanese textile machinery manufacturer Shima Seiki has a released a new plating option called ‘i-Plating’ for some of its computerised knitting machines.

Unlike conventional plating techniques, the company said on announcing the development, i-Plating offers so-called inverse-plating capability in which alternate yarns are both shown on the fabric surface in any specific pattern or design, producing jacquard-like patterns in plain jersey stitch.
